WOODLAND - Due to road reconstruction, County Road 22 (Old River Road), north of the Sacramento Weir, will be closed to through traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m.

City to begin work on Davis Street Widening Project

VACAVILLE - Construction on the widening of Davis Street between Bella Vista Road and the Interstate 80 undercrossing, designed to improve traffic circulation in the area, is expected to begin July 18.

Along with the road widening, the project includes construction of a new driveway to the Bella Vista Park and Ride Lot from the intersection of Davis Street and Hume Way; two left-turn lanes from southbound Davis Street onto eastbound Hume Way; and a separate right turn lane for northbound Davis Street traffic onto eastbound Hume Way.

Traffic signals at the intersections of Davis Street/Hume Way and Davis Street/Bella Vista Road/I-80 On-Off ramps will be modified to accommodate the new road layout.

Construction is expected to take approximately three months.

During construction, no detours are expected to be in place or needed. Initial work will involve widening the west side of Davis Street.

Yolobus announces new magnetic swipe cards

YOLO COUNTY - Beginning July 1, 2011, Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD), administrator of Yolobus, will implement a new magnetic swipe card fare media payment system, a press release announced Monday.

New magnetic swipe cards can be read electronically on all Yolobus fixed-route buses. Yolobus Monthly Passes with magnetic strips are easily read by the fareboxes.  Riders simply swipe their pass as they board the bus.  If riding a Yolobus Express Route, riders will need to present their express sticker to the driver after swiping.

Yolobus Magnetic Cash-Value Tickets will replace paper tickets. They are available in $10, $20, and $30 values and are a convenient alternative to carrying cash while also allowing passengers to board quickly and easily. Riders simply insert their ticket into the farebox and inform the driver how much to deduct based on fares. Riders can purchase either a Single Ride or a Day Pass with their Cash-Value T
