Red Robin to open new restaurant in Woodland April 25

WOODLAND - Alert your taste buds! Red Robin Restaurant will open a new location in Woodland at 2031 Bronze Star Drive at the Woodland Gateway Shopping Center across from Target, on Monday, April 25 at 11 a.m. Red Robin offers more than two dozen high-quality gourmet burgers served with Bottomless Steak Fries® (which means free refills!) as well as a variety of salads, entrees, soups and wraps made with the freshest ingredients, many of which are made in-house.

To celebrate Red Robin’s grand opening and demonstrate its commitment to the community, the new restaurant has partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to host a Burgers With A Heart® fundraiser. During grand opening week, from April 25 to May 1, Red Robin will donate 50 cents from every gourmet burger sold to support NCMEC’s child safety initiatives.

Woodland police to help raise money for Special Olympics April 21

WOODLAND - Police officers and other representatives of the Woodland Police Department will volunteer their time to assist restaurant staff and help raise money for Special Olympics Northern California at a Tip-A-Cop® fundraiser on Thursday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Applebee's, 1790 East Main Street in Woodland, located in the Yolo Polo Plaza shopping center.

The Woodland Police Department, along with the international law enforcement community, has had a longstanding relationship with the Special Olympics. The Law Enforcement Torch Run® is a year-round fundraising campaign, which culminates with the carrying of the Flame of Hope™ to Special Olympics competitions.

New cupcake shop to open in Vacaville Apr. 16

VACAVILLE - Are you a cupcake lover? Good news! A new cupcake shop "Just Cakin It" will celebrate its grand opening on April 16 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. at 179 Elmira Road, Suite C.

The store will be the first dessert shop in town to feature cupcakes. The grand opening event will feature an Easter basket full of prize eggs and each customer will be able to pick a prize with their purchase, to win discounts and free treats. The shop will also host a raffle with multiple prizes.

"We can't wait to be a place families come to hang out and spend quality time over a cup of tea or coffee and a sweet treat," said Shelly Bakosh, co-owner of Just Cakin It.

St. Patrick's Day Poker Pub Crawl in Woodland March 17

WOODLAND - St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and why not plan to celebrate by joining a local Poker Pub Crawl on March 17. Five bars, one epic day!

The participating venues are:

Kenny’s Bar - 721 East Street, Woodland
Capital Saloon and Grill - 601 Main Street, Woodland
Tazzina Bistro - 614 Main Street, Woodland
The Stag - 506 Main Street, Woodland

The party starts when the first bar opens at about 6 a.m. and continues until The Stag closes at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, March 18. There is no pre-determined order to visit each venue, just be sure to hit them all! Every one of the venues will have great prices on various food and/or drink items in honor of St. Patricks Day, and everyone who attends can enter for a chance to win a $100 Best Buy Gift Card!

Each of the above participating businesses will have specially marked playing cards on hand during their business hours.
