Whole Earth Festival takes place May 6-8 at UC Davis

DAVIS - UC Davis will host its 42nd Annual Whole Earth Festival this weekend, May 6-8 in the Quad on campus. The events theme "Consciousness, Cultivating, Compassion," highlights the drive to ensure as little waste as possible is generated during the festival in efforts to preserve the environment.

The mission of the event is to create a community driven festival of education, music and art while cultivating organic produce grown from gardens into tasty, nutritional meals to feed volunteers, staff and performers. Festival goers will be provided with information about how frugality and ecological sustainability come hand in hand, and we should be careful with the resources we create and consume.

Every Saturday, all year long, you'll find seasonal fruits and vegetables, plus flowers, fresh baked goodies, wines, crafts, and favorite food vendors like Pilar's Famous Tamales and Aisu Pop's gourmet popsicles (try the Apple Lychee with Rosemary, or the Kiwi Mango).
