The Yolo County Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, April 13-19, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.  Community members are invited to celebrate by participating in a number of programs and events in April featured at all branches of the Yolo County Library system:

Mystery Game Night For Tweens, Hosted By Tweens

The Yolo County Library’s Mary L. Stephens Branch in Davis is pleased to present a night of mystery and books for “tweens” (pre-teens).  The program will take place in the Blanchard Room of the library, located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis, on Friday, March 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  This event is free and open to youth between the ages of 9 and 12, or in grades 4 through 6.

Participants can expect a fun-filled evening of sleuthing and snacks.  Tweens will solve mysteries during this program using books that were inspired by the board game Clue.

“The tween years are a time when many youth may want to become more proactive in their communities,” says Yolo County Librarian Patty Wong.  “Mystery Game Night for Tweens is a great way for this age group to have fun, meet new peers and test the waters of community involvement.”
