Celebrate the Davis Branch Library on December 12

Can you believe it has been five year since the renovation of Yolo County’s Mary L. Stephens Branch Library in Davis?  Come help us celebrate on Saturday, December 12 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.!

All are invited to this special event which highlights the importance and evolution of the Davis Branch Library.  The celebration will include a Library Services Fair from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Blanchard Room, library fact game with a gift basket raffle, ‘Library Love Letters’ display, Yolo County Library history exhibit, tours and more.  First 5 California will also have a booth set up with free giveaways and activities highlighting the nationally acclaimed ‘Talk, Read, Sing’ program.

Special guests include City of Davis Poet Laureate Andy Jones, who will be Master of Ceremonies, and former County Librarian Mary Stephens-Dewall.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry Visits Davis Library March 28

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will come to the Davis Branch Library on Saturday, March 28, 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Blanchard Room of the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis.

Learn the science behind the magic of Harry Potter with the Davis Science Collective. The Davis Science Collective is a group of UC Davis graduate students that work with the Davis community on all things science-related.  Come and be a Hogwarts student for the day and attend classes on astronomy, herbology, transfiguration, making a Marauder's Map, potions and broomstick repair. The Davis Origami Group will sponsor the care of magical creatures class.  Work your way around the Blanchard Room visiting the different classes and get your report card stamped after completing each one.  Then, submit your raffle ticket for you’re a chance to win a complete set of Harry Potter books.
