History Museum presents "History Exposed" on 9/30!

See Old Sacramento in a new way – or maybe an old way with a curious twist – at the Sacramento History Museum’s special event, “History Exposed,” a celebration of 19th century photography on Friday evening, September 30 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

As a highlight, Cosumnes College Photography Instructor Kathryn Mayo will be a special guest to speak about how she uses 19th century image-making techniques to create portraits that are compelling, beguiling and even a bit unsettling. Mayo will explore the history of Gold Rush image making and showcase her work, including portraits she made of Old Sacramento Underground tour guides (who were transformed into the unsavory characters that guides describe on the Underground After Hours adult-themed tour). After the presentation, guests can enjoy food and music, explore the Museum, see Mayo’s latest portraits and view a collection on special display.
