Notorious Shank Brothers to perform in Woodland March 5

WOODLAND - If you like traditional Bluegrass, you will like the solid combination of classic songs and instrumentals dished up by The Notorious Shank Brothers, appearing at the Woodland Opera House on Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m.

After polishing their technique and repertoire, Erik and Al Shank found some local players to complete the band in May 2006. After weeks of practice they appeared in July at the Peach Festival in Marysville. They have continued to appear at several venues throughout Northern California including being selected to play on “Vern’s Stage” at the California Bluegrass Association Festival. In the summer of 2009 the quartet hit the “winery circuit” playing at several wineries such as Imagery Estate, Rominger West and St. Clement Vineyard.

The lineup is a quartet consisting of Kim Nguyen on bass, Ken Eldridge on guitar and vocals, Al Shank on mandolin and tenor vocals and Erik Shank on banjo and lead baritone vocals.

Tickets for the concert are available at the Woodland Opera House Box Office at 340 2nd Street, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. You may also order by phone at (530) 666-9617, or online at www.woodlandoperhouse.org. Reserve seats are $17 for adults and $8 for children 17 and under.
